2009

The Beginning

Guide Infinity was founded by electrical engineer Mark Thompson and software developer Sarah Chen in Toronto. Frustrated by the lack of reliable smart home solutions for their own cottage in Muskoka, they decided to create technology specifically designed for Canadian cottage environments.

First prototype cottage monitoring system developed

First Commercial Success

After two years of development and testing, Guide Infinity launched its first commercial product: the CottageGuard system. This revolutionary monitoring solution could operate in extreme Canadian weather conditions and work with limited connectivity.

Expanding Across Canada

Growing demand led to expansion beyond Ontario. Guide Infinity established service partnerships across British Columbia, Alberta, and the Maritime provinces, bringing cottage automation to remote locations coast to coast.

Recognizing the environmental importance of cottage country, Guide Infinity partnered with solar technology leaders to offer integrated renewable energy solutions. The EcoLodge system combined automation with sustainable power generation.

The launch of the Guide Infinity mobile app revolutionized cottage management. Owners could now monitor and control their cottages from anywhere in the world, receiving real-time alerts and managing systems remotely.
